Week 9: How did we do

(4-2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers v (4-4) Baltimore Ravens

I chose the Ravens to win this game feeling their defense would be a difference. DeeCee wisely chose the Steelers, as they took control of that game. Final score 23-16, Ravens.

(4-3) Chicago Bears v (2-6) Buffalo Bills

The Bears took care of business and took this one on the road. This was an easy pick for us both. Final Score 41-9, Bears

(3-4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v (5-2) Carolina Panthers

I told you to watch out for them Bucs. They have a tendency of coming back on teams. The problem is they are not able to cap off the comeback with a victory. The Cardiac Cats were hearing the footsteps, but their offense showed they could score quick when needed. Final Score 42-28, Panthers.

(7-1) Kansas City Chiefs v (2-5-1) Cleveland Browns

The Browns have nothing to play for but the future, and these are the teams that can become dangerous. The Chiefs got the victory, but they gave up a few scores in the process. Final Score 37-12, Chiefs

(3-5) New York Jets v (4-4) Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins managed to squeak by in this game. Final Score 13-6, Dolphins.

(3-4) Detroit Lions v (4-3-1) Minnesota Vikings

I didn’t learn from DeeCee last week, him having gambled on the Lions and resulting in my victory. Funny thing is I was the one to criticize DeeCee for gambling on their (the Lions) inconsistency. And yet I decided to do that this week, and I paid for it. Vikings won 24-9.

(3-4) Atlanta Falcons v (5-2) Washington Redskins

The Falcons came to play. This game the Falcons just dominated. The running game, that hadn’t made its presence known all year, showed up and showed out. That opened up the passing game allowing Julio Jones to get his first touchdown of the year. Falcons with the upset, 38-14.

(5-3) Houston Texans v (3-5) Denver Broncos

I said the Broncos had the weapons to give this Texan team fits, and they came within a field goal of winning this game. Wide right was the difference in the Broncos getting back to .500. Final Score 19-17, Texans.

(5-2) Los Angeles Chargers v (4-3) Seattle Seahawks

The Chargers were able to survive the 12 Man, and came away with the victory. Final score 25-17, Chargers.

Game of the Week: (8-0) Los Angeles Rams v (6-1) New Orleans Saints

Wow, what a game. This game started to look like a blow out, and then the Rams tied it up quick. The Saints proved my point that they are the most dangerous team in the NFC. With this victory, they potentially have the chance to control home field. Final score 45-35, Saints.

Sunday Night Game: (3-3-1) Green Bay Packers v (6-2) New England Patriots

The Patriots are looking playoff ready. Tom Brady and that team are finding their stride at the right time. The super bowl for the AFC may go through KC, but the team to beat remains the Patriots. Final score 31-17, Patriots

Screen Shot 2018-10-12 at 12.24.08 PM Patriots 8-3

Monday Night Game: (3-4) Tennessee Titans v (3-4) Dallas Cowboys

Out of the gate, the Cowboys were looking good. They had their newly acquired weapon, Amari Cooper, and the Cowboys were starting to look like a complete team. But they abandoned the one thing that has been their strength before Amari Cooper, and that was their running game. The Titans defense was all over Dak Prescott, recording several sacks, and sack fumbles. Prescott not being able to get the ball out of his hands quick enough was the difference in this game. Final Score 28-14, Titans.

Screen Shot 2018-10-12 at 12.24.08 PM Cowboys 8-4

Screen Shot 2018-10-12 at 12.24.17 PM Cowboys 10-2

Another week down, and another week closer to the big game. We still have a lot of football left, and a key games that could change the playoff picture. As far as our predictions went, DeeCee took this week going 10-2. My decision to gamble on the Lions and Ravens made the difference in how this week’s predictions went for me.
