Week 12: How did we do

(2-8) Oakland Raiders v (5-5) Baltimore Ravens

As expected, Ravens won this one 34-17.

(3-7) Jacksonville Jaguars v (3-7) Buffalo Bills

Another L for the Jags, and the slide continues for this team. Leonard Fournette (running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars) and Shaq Lawson (defensive end for the Buffalo Bill) were tossed after a contested catch by WR Donte Moncrief (of the Bills) and DB Levi Wallace (Jags) spilled into a brawl. This is going to be a year Jags fans and players are going to want to forget. Bills won 24-21.

(5-5) Seattle Seahawks v (6-4) Carolina Panthers

Wow, a missed field goal by Carolina followed by a busted coverage in the secondary. These kind of losses are heartbreaking, especially when you look at the big plays that Carolina’s Offense were putting up.  Seattle stole this one on the road 30-27, and now have a chance at a playoff slot.

(3-6-1) Cleveland Browns v (5-5) Cincinnati Bengals

First, congrats to the Browns for coming out on fire with something to play for, that something being the future. For the Bengals, if they were playing for a playoff spot, then they deserved to get bounced. They played flat, and I would not be surprised if this loss cost Marvin Lewis his job. Browns win 35-20.

(7-3) New England Patriots v (3-7) New York Jets

The Jets actually made this game a little interesting for a bit. Up until the 4th quarter, the Jets were staying neck and neck with the Pats. Talent won out, and the Pats got the win here 27-13.

(3-7) New York Giants v (4-6) Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants were on the verge of running away with this one and playing spoiler to the Eagles. But the Eagles fought back and came out of this one with a win, 25-22.

(2-8) San Francisco 49ers v (3-7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This game was lost by my niners when they had 4 attempts to get the ball in the end zone from the 1, and kicked the field goal. No ability to get the ball down field, no ability to get to the quarterback, or defend the pass.  I am just ready to start the off season now. Just sayin’. We took this L 27-9

Screen Shot 2018-10-12 at 12.24.08 PM Though I did not predict, I been clear that I have been going for the 9ers. So I will go down with the ship here. (4-3)

(2-8) Arizona Cardinals v (7-3) San Diego Chargers

“Show me your lightning bolt”.

The Chargers took care of business at home, as expected, against the Cardinals. Final score 45-10.

(5-5) Miami Dolphins v (5-5) Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are now on a 5 game winning streak, and are in the hunt for a wild card slot. They knocked off the Dolphins 27-24.

(7-2-1) Pittsburgh Steelers v (4-6) Denver Broncos

Don’t sleep on those Broncos. They will not just lay down and take the L. This team has a lot of fight left in them, and the Steelers learned first hand what kind of team the Broncos can be. Turnovers were the story of this game, as the Steelers gave the ball away four times (2 interceptions and 2 fumbles). Between the turnovers and the missed field goal, the Steelers were not able to overcome their mistakes. This resulted in an upset win for the Broncos, 24-17.

Sunday Night Football: (4-5-1) Green Bay Packers v (5-4-1) Minnesota Vikings

The Packers could use a hug right now. This has not been their season. Weird given the way they started. After the game 1 comeback against the Bears, there was a buzz around this team. But since that win, the Packers have not had the kind of season they, or their fans, have hoped. The Packers fell to the Vikings 24-17.

Monday Night Football: (5-5) Tennessee Titans v (7-3) Houston Texans

Houston continues their turn-around season after starting 0-3. Monday Night they continued their streak after defeating the Titans 34-17.

Screen Shot 2018-10-12 at 12.24.08 PM Texans (8-4)

The hunt has begun. The last QTR of the season is coming up, and teams will fight for playoff slots. No more coulda, shoulda, wouldas. For some teams it is either win or spend January on the couch. And for other teams, it’s about getting ready for next year. The march towards Atlanta continues.
