How many cameras are too many?

Was reading an article on XDA about the Nokia 9. This phone is rumored to sport 7 rear facing cameras. Where Google has been able to get by with one camera Nokia is needing 7. I suspect that each camera will provide a different aperture, but that leads me to my question. How many cameras are too many?

It’s nothing now to see phones with two cameras on the back. Even Apple is about utilizing multiple rear cameras. And Huawei’s P20 Pro contain 3 rear facing cameras. But for me I say two cameras are enough. Google has shown that with software they are able to do an awesome job with photos.

Adding more cameras mean users have to be more cautious of their hand and finger placement. This may also be a challenge for case makers, having to make the precise hole placement for each camera. The more case openings, the more areas in which dust can collect.

With all that said, I look forward to seeing the reviews on how each camera performs, versus that of the Pixel and iPhones. That is if this phone actually hit the market.

So how many cameras are too many for you?
